Rights, Camera, Action!

October 15, 2018

This free screening and panel discussion features videos produced by emerging women activists of immigrant backgrounds through a media workshop held at MoMI in July of 2018, in which participants collaborated with community leaders and filmmakers to learn how to use image, sound and editing to create short videos on the theme of social change. Panelists JT Takagi and Betty Bastidas, both filmmakers and activists, will discuss the process of participatory filmmaking as a strategy for social justice.

This event celebrates 30 years of defending immigrant rights at Emerald Isle Immigration Center and 50 years of radical film-making at Third World Newsreel.
