EIIC Online Citizenship Classes
The Emerald Isle Immigration Center (EIIC) has a long history of helping new immigrants assimilate into their new communities while learning about the culture and history of the United States. Through USCIS’ Citizenship and Integration Grant Program, EIIC continues to teach lawful permanent residents about what it means to live and thrive in the United States today and the importance of understanding the country’s history.
Class schedule: Mondays & Thursdays |7:30 PM to 9:30 PM
Study U.S. history and civics, practice reading, writing and improve your English skills for the citizenship interview

Registration to the Documentary Workshop: 2021 Rights, Camera, Action!
This workshop is aimed at emerging immigrant women activists from Queens and uses a participatory video approach in which everyone can try out all aspects of creating short documentaries. Participants will work together to make several videos that addresses common concerns regarding healthcare, climate change and Environmental Awareness exploring video production
. Meet and collaborate with women leaders around the Queens community.
. Learn how to use images, sound and editing for social change videos.
This is a project of the Emerald Isle Immigration Center in collaboration with Third World Newsreel and the Museum of the Moving Image, with the support of the Queens Council for the Arts.
REGISTRATION DEADLINE SUNDAY, JULY 25
Requirement:
*Age 18 and over
*Attend all workshops: Tuesday, July 27 at 6-8PM (virtual workshop), Friday July 30 at 6-8PM (virtual workshop) and Sunday August 1 1-4PM (Workshop participants must have been vaccinated face-to-face at 34 Avenue Open Streets and 92 Street Jackson Heights)
- Topics of the 2021 Rights, Camera, Action! Workshop will be related to climate change and healthcare.
